One day in August, 2014, Wolff approached me (Kat) and told me about Barefoot Books. Wolff had just signed up, and she wanted me to sign up under her.

I was skeptical at first. Barefoot Books is an MLM — multi-level marketing program — which is a type of thing largely regarded as a scam. And I can’t say I’ve had good experiences with MLMs before. I expressed my skepticism to Wolff, and she confessed she’d felt the same, but then changed her mind.

So I did some research, and I discovered that Barefoot Books is awesome. The books they provide are colourful, high-quality, and best of all? Educational and fun. I signed up under my mom and became an Ambassador myself.

Now, Kat & Wolff are going Barefoot. And we would love it if you would join us.

Barefoot Books is great for parents, aunts (that’s me), uncles, educators, artists, entrepreneurs, or anyone who’s passionate about fostering literacy and inspiring in children a life-long love of books. Adults enjoy the stories, too. 😉

The company’s catalog includes a wide variety of books that foster knowledge of diversity, animals, cultures, and science. In the book I Took The Moon For a Walk, a magical poem takes us on a journey with the moon and a young child, and the end of the book teaches us about the phases of the moon and nocturnal animals. In Skip Through The Seasons, children learn about the months of the year, axial tilt, world calendars, the deities associated with each day, and more. In The Tortoise’s Gift: A Story From Zambia, we are reminded that great gifts can come from anyone, even those from which we expect little.

Personally, I can’t wait until Mr. Katje and I have kids so I can share these books with them. In the meantime, I’ll be reading these stories and more to my niece, and encouraging my friends who are parents to check out Barefoot Books.
